I love my giraffe
Around the Harvey household we love the Andy Griffin Show. After all Daddy is named after him! There is a famous quote from the show in which Barney Fife (Don Knotts) says "Giraffes are selfish."
Well, when Savannah was born we came home from the hospital to find a giraffe in her crib from Ma and Pa. We loved it and all started laughing saying how the giraffe was selfish sitting in the middle of Savannah's bed. To make a long story short...everytime we see a giraffe or the Harvey's see one we buy it for Savannah. I love it because when I was little my brother came me a bear and after that, there wasn't a bear I didn't have.
For Savannah's birthday Aunt Randi and Uncle Daryl gave her a potbelly giraffe. Andy and I thought it was the cutest thing but Savannah wasn't much for stuffed animals. However, we apparently were wrong. Mr. Giraffe has become her favorite thing. She sleeps with it, plays with it, and takes it everywhere. Yesterday morning I had changed her diaper and put her on the ground to play while I got her clothes for church. When I turned around I saw her reaching through her crib trying to get Mr. Giraffe out to take with her. Below are two pictures once she successfully got him out!

Made it!
Finally a full week of Savannah going to daycare! Due to sickness, appointments, etc. she has not been able to actually attend a full week until now.
Savannah has been quite the little character since turning one! She has decided that crawling is not longer an option...walking is a must and running if I am trying to get away from Mommy or Daddy. One of the funniest things is when she is drinking her bottle (which we are down to only 3 a day). When she isn't drinking it she will walk around with it in her mouth holding it by her teeth. We have decided that at daycare, some of the others must try to take it from her.
Another thing Savannah has recently decided is that she is very strong. She tries to carry everything and sometimes if they are to heavy she gets you to carry them for her. :)
Daddy was sick earlier this week and Mommy was trying her best to keep Savannah away. Well, little missy wasn't happy about it. She would go bang on the door yelling DaDa DaDa. Then when I would open the door so he could sit up a little from bed and say hi she would try her hardest to get to him. She was not happy that she couldn't play with Dada. So yesterday Daddy had duty because Mommy had a game and Savannah had a blast. They came to my game and then they went home and played until 8:30. Daddy said it was as if she didn't want to go to bed because she didn't want to not play tomorrow. Poor baby...didn't understand that Daddy would play in the morning. So, of course this morning they played and showed Mommy thier new game...I will try to get it on video this weekend...it is entertaining.
I won't continue to bore you with our day to day life but we are excited this weekend becuase my college roommate Lacy will be in town for a bridal shower for my best friend and other college roommate Tuck. Andy is going on a motorcycle ride to Wimberley with some guys from church in the morning. And Texas plays Tech saturday night! I will hopefully post some pictures and video this weekend!

Happy Birthday Crossroads!
Crossroads celebrated 2 years yesterday! I can't even believe it has been that long. Andy and I have grown so much spiritually and as a couple in the past two years! God is doing amazing things in North Austin and with Crossroads. One thing Crossroads has brougt us our people that I can honestly call our best friends!
The celebration was set to be on Lake Travis on some party barges...but as you can see in one picture Mother Nature had other plans. So, we got some food and headed to our house to hang out with some of the group!

By The way...SHE HATED THE LIFE JACKET! We decided we wont be going on a boat with her for a while :)
12 month check up and tests
Savannah was so blessed at her first birthday! However, the day after was not so fun for Savannah or Daddy and Mommy. Our morning started out early...we were dressed and in the care by 6:45am.
The first 'Fun' of the day was Dell Children's. Savannah had two tests done...one was a sonogram and athough it didn't hurt her one bit she screamed and clung to us for dear life. The second one was a test were they had to catheradize her and check her kidney's for reflux. Let me just say when your baby is strapped down to a table and screaming you feel so helpless. Andy and I had to hold her hands over her head and just talk to her and try to calm her down. The test lasted about 20 minutes and it was done. We got the results this morning and Praise God everything looks normal.
After leaving Dell Childrens we went and ate breakfast and Andy went back to work. Well, Savannah and I were on to her doctors office for her check up. Now don't tell me my child is not smart...when we were called to the back she immediately started screaming. It is as if she knew something was going to happen! She did recieve 4 shots so I knew she would not be a happy camper that night or the next day.
Luckly it POURED in Austin all weekend so we were content staying at home and relaxing. Below are some pictures...while at Dell Childrens her giraffe from Aunt Randi and Uncle Daryl became her new favorite thing. She didn't let go of it much this weekend!
Her 12 month measurements are:
30 in tall = 79%
19.49 lbs = 24% (She has only gained about 12 pound since she was born.)
45.5 was her measurement for her head = 63%

Austin Tourist
This weekend we had the opportunity to take Daryl around Austin since he had never been here. We went to the capital, DKR, the Bob Bullock, and watched the bats. Here is a picture of us in the capital...it was so fun to watch Andy looking at all the pictures and light up talking about TX history!
This weekend we also turned Savannah around for the first time. She was so excited to see where we are going not where we were. She wouldn't stop waving at all the cars driving by!

Look out world...
We have had an eventful two weeks. But perhaps the biggest and most exciting event is starting this weekend! We are having Savannah's first birthday party on Saturday and then a couple days later is the big day! I won't tell you much because well I want to wait when we have more pictures.
I will say that Savannah is loving the fact that she can walk and trying to carry thigns that are much larger than her around the house. I will post pictures after Saturday!
