Feeling Better

Everyone in our house is finally feeling bettter. Here is a video from last night of Savannah playing with Daddy

I want to eat your face!

Lately everything goes to Savannah's mouth. Anything you are holding she tries to get ahold of and if you are playing with her she will put her hands on either side of your face and tries to eat it. Here are some pictures:

High Chair Fun

Savannah has always been a great car rider. Most of the time she goes to sleep or just looks around contently. However, lately she is more aware of the world around her and thus wants to sit up and see it. Every time we put her in her car seat she lifts her head in an effort to sit up. Andy and I have had to get rather sneaky to trying to not let her strain her neck. :)

I tell you all this because when we go to restaurants she no longer is content just laying in her car seat. She wants out so that she can see the world. Every Wednesday night, Andy has practice and I go eat with my parents. So last night we went to a small Mexican food restaurant. She was in her car seat all warm and snuggling because it was freezing outside and Papa decided he wanted to pull her out. It was all great until dinner arrived. You see everything goes to Savannah's mouth so when the food came out she was reaching for all of it.

She didn't want any part of being put back in her car seat so Papa decided to get a high chair. We tied her blanket around her so tight so that she couldn't fall back and hit her head and so she wouldn't hit her face on the table. SHE LOVED IT!!!

Andy and his dad made Savannah a high chair over Christmas and Andy needs to varnish it and put it back together. I told him last night. The time has come...this weekend he is going to work on it and on Valentines Day we are starting solids...

Sick Harvey Household

Well now that Savannah and Mommy are back to normal...Daddy is sick.

Andy has been fighting a cough for about a week now. He is very prone to bronchidis so I was a little worried but he said he was okay and got some cough medicine. Well Sunday afternoon it got worse and by Sunday night he was taking a hot bath for an hour. (By the way...Andy doesn't like baths at all) He spent most of Sunday night coughing but went to work on Monday. I was shocked when he called me a noon to tell me he was going to pick up Savannah and then go to the doctor. (Andy and I are both stubborn when it comes to the doctor...we don't go unless we just can't take it anymore) Well...he has a mild case of Bronchidis and is home today with a fever.

I am now confinced this bug is from the Devil!!! It has now affected Savannah, Mommy, Daddy, Nana, and Papa.

One Crazy week!

Well all I can say is Thank God this week is behind us! I totally jinked myself two weeks ago when I said we haven't had to miss any school due to Savannah being sick. Well, that was the understatement of this week! Here is our week at a glance:
Last Thursday: Savannah sick with diarrhea and throwing up...Long night!
Last Friday: Daddy stayed home with Savannah and she seemed to be getting better
Last Saturday: Pa came fore a visit and Savannah was a happy little girl...didn't seem to be sick or anything
Last Sunday: Stayed out of Nursery at church. After lunch Savannah and Mommy were sick. Daddy called Brady and told him he wasn't going to be able to make it to our church meeting because he needed to stay home with us.

Monday morning: Got up with Savannah and she seemed to be feeling better. Wasn't running a fever or diarrhea. I wasn't feeling great but it was teacher inservice so I had to go to meetings. Andy and I took Savannah to day care and headed to inservice. Both middle schools were together which meant Andy and I would be together. Well...11 am the day care called, Savannah was sick and needed to be picked up. By that night we were both very sick and we knew that Savannah and I would be staying home that day. My mom had volunteered to come help take care of Savannah
Tuesday: Nana at the house taking care of two sick girls. We realized at about 1 pm that Savannah still wasn't better and would need to stay home tomorrow. My dad said he could take off work and watch her.
Wednesday:Papa watched Savannah all day. She seemed to be doing a lot better. Until around 6 pm it all went downhill. I guess that means no school tomorrow. Nana (my mom) said she would come back tomorrow.
Thursday: Nana back to watch Savannah...Papa is home sick now. Savannah still not doing good. Andy and I decided she would stay home one more day. So we called Andy's parents. His Dad said he would be here tonight but his Mom couldn't make the trip because she was in Alabama. I had a game that night so when I got home Andy's dad was about 30 minutes away.
I was changing Savannah's diaper when Andy told me he was here and that his mom was here too! We were both so excited!
Friday: Pa and Ma watched Savannah and she seemed to be done! They had a blast
Saturday: Pa and Ma got to hang out with Savannah and us and enjoy her being back to her happy self! Praise God!
This was a killer bug. My Mom is now sick and my dad is still not back to normal. What a week! Thankfully Savannah will be going back to day care tomorrow and we will be back to our normal routine.
But I must brag for a second...I have the happiest baby ever! Although she felt like crap she never stopped smiling. Here are some pictures from our week and weekend
I can roll over and I love it now!

Too Cool for school!
Daddy was trying to drink tea and well Savannah got ahold of the glass.

Seriously!!!

Well, today marks a week that Savannah has had this bug! Our poor baby is just battling it out. However, she has never stopped smiling. We have such a happy baby!

My Mom is at home with her today and she took her to the doctor this morning. The doctor said that this bug can take 8-10 days to completely clear the system. Since Savannah is not yet on solids it is harder for her poop to harden so that is why this is taking so long.

As I was reading my daily blogs I noticed that most of the babies are sick with this as well. As Melissa said...exile is the name of the game! My in-laws are coming tonight to stay with Savannah tomorrow. Praise the Lord for Grandparents!

Hopefully she will be ready to go back to day care on Monday. Unfortantely, Savannah and I will be staying home from Church on Sunday just to make sure she is 100% better.

Please continue to pray for her little body as well as her friends that are battling this. Also, please pray for Andy and I to get some rest...we are running on LOW!!!

6 days and counting

Well tomorrow marks day 7 that Savannah has been sick. On Saturday I started to feel bad and by Sunday afternoon I had the bug too. Poor Andy has been taking care of his sick wife and baby!

We went to the doctor yesterday and they told us that we just needed to let this run it's course. As long as she isn't getting dyhydrated we are okay. If this doesn't get better by tomorrow I will call the doctor again.

I will keep you updated as to what is happening with Savannah.

Check out my pony tail

So I decided to try and put Savannah's hair in a ponytail today. The hair on the top of her head is really long and is in her eyes. It was so cute but so hard to get her to let me do it. In the end she didn't mess with it at all. She is the cutest thing I ever saw!

Visit from Pa

Andy's dad is working a new project in Port Arthur, Texas. So this weekend he decided he would come up to Austin to hang out with Savannah. Although she was still gettting over being sick she seemed to love being with him!

Poor Baby

My poor baby has come down with some sort of stomach bug. She is not wanting to eat, having bad BM's, and throwing up. Andy is home with her today and we are hoping that she will start doing better by this afternoon.

We were going to go to the Hospital tonight to meet Hudson Garcia but I guess we will have to wait. Savannah has to be well to meet her future Husband :)

Update

I wanted to update my daily readers :) about some things I have been talking about

1. Savannah's teeth
The two bottom teeth are still growing but they have broken the surface. Everything goes to her mouth and right now she will chew on the bottle instead of eating. We give her tylenol and baby orajel but she hates the taste of the orajel. We also have teething rings that we put in the freezer...she will knawl at those forever!

2. Savannah's Skin
Since going to the doctor her skin looks 10x better! We are lathering her up daily and she seems to really like to get a massage. I told Andy this means lots of Mommy - Savannah time at the nail salon :) Part of the reason her face is still a little broken out is because she can't keep her hands away from her face. And since she is always chewing on her hands her drool is all over her face.

3. Weight Watcher
I am continuing to work out on a daily basis and I can tell that I am getting more endurance. As far as food goes...I am a little hungry this week but my co-workers and doing weight watchers with me so we are finding all sorts of 1 point items and what not. They are really helping hold me accountable.

Below are some pictures:
Savannah loves to get her diaper changed...when you lay her down on the table she gets so excited and starts smiling and talking!

She is growing up...this is in the bouncer at Church. Look at my big girl!

Andy got me this device that I can upload pictures I have taken on my phone. So I decided to post a couple of fun pictures from the past couple of weeks!

So it begins!

If you want to read about Savannah sorry this is just a blog for mommy today!

Since I had Savannah I have been saying I need to start working out and eating better. Not just so I feel better but I don't want Savannah to learn bad habits from mommy and daddy. Plus I am a coach and if I want my girls to be in shape I have to show them how.

Well, we finally did it. Last Monday I started working out and let me tell you I haven't been that sore in a long time! This weekend Andy and I decided that we are going to start weight watchers again during the week and just eat reasonably on the weekends. After all I have to have chocolate and I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD!!

I will update you periodically on this journey but your prayers and encouragement are always welcome.

Bath time Fun

So a few weeks ago I won a bath time fun basket from a craft show. One of the items in it was the huge duck for babies that still haven't learned to sit up yet but can't fit into their infant bath tub anymore.

Today has been a trying day with Savannah not feeling that great from her shots. However, when we gave her a bath tonight she seemed to really enjoy it!

Fun Pictures from the week

4 months

Wow...tomorrow my baby will be 4 months old. Andy and I can't hardly believe it! She is growing so much and we are loving every minute of it.
Here are a couple things that have happened this month
- Rolling over...just don't leave her on her stomach too long
- Cutting teeth (2 lower ones)
- Smiling at almost anything now
- Almost sitting up by herself
- Everything goes to her mouth
- Facinated by hands!
- Hugs...well sort of

Today we went in for her 4 month check up as well as shots. Once again the pediatrician is very shocked at how much she can do for a 4 month old. When she rolled over on her side and tried to scoot across the table she informed us she would be crawling in no time (great that means we have to child proof the house) Her measurements are

Head: 41 = 53%
Height: 24 1/2 inches = 62%
Weight: 13.05 ozs = 38%

Here are two pictures of Savannah in her bobby chair. One is from the day we brough her home and the other a week ago. Wow how she has grown!!

Update:
My poor baby has severe eczema. The dermatologist has given us yet another cream to try and another steriod medication. We hope this works. We are going back in a month to check on it. Please pray that this will heal and that she will stop scratching.
Her teeth are still not completely in but when she lets you can really see them coming in.

Dang it!

Well yet again Savannah's face is breaking out. Andy and I have had enough and we decided to go to a dermatologist. So since Friday we are getting her shots we decided to just take a full day each and both go. Hopefully we will get to the bottom of this and her little body will not continue to break out.

On a happy note...she is rolling from her back to her stomach like crazy and now she is starting to become mobile. Check out her video with the beginning stages of crawling.

Teething!

My daughter is an overachiever...However, in this case I wish she wasn't. I have been saying for about a month I think she is teething. But then I think surely not she isn't even 4 months old yet!

Over Christmas break she began to really chew on anything in site and when she got my finger I could tell there was something coming in.

I think Friday night is when it really started to hurt. Since then Savannah hasn't slept at night for longer than 3 hours straight. When she wakes up she is fussy and chewing on anything plus she doesn't want to be put down. So needless to say Andy and I are running on very little sleep.
SAVANNAH THE OVER ACHIEVER:
Yesterday when we got home from day care she was a little fusy but when we gave her the bottle she just chewed it. So I got the teething gel and put it on her bottom gum...What do I find not 1 but 2 teeth coming through. We can actually see and feel the bottom two front teeth. Poor baby no wonder she isn't feeling good.
Here are some pictures of the cold teething ring that she has decided she loves!!!

Back to School

Today marks the end of our two week Vacation. Last night as Andy and I were laying down we commented on the fact that we needed a vacation from the vacation. Ever feel like that?
We are all back at school and I think Savannah is going to enjoy being back at day care. After all now she can roll over and show those big kids Who's boss!!!

Remember when: A year ago today Andy and I told our church we were pregnant. Wow what a year it has been! We got home from Alabama the day before New Years eve and that morning we took a test. With in a couple of second it said Pregnant. I called Andy into the bathroom and we both couldn't stop laughing or crying. I wanted to make sure so I called the doctor and they could get us in that morning.

I remember driving to the doctor with Andy and we were just laughing at the possibility. I had been told I would have a lot of trouble getting pregnant and that I may not even be able to have kids. So andy and I decided we would like to get pregnant some time in 2008 so we would stop taking the pill. Well, what do you know I stopped and got pregnant right away. God has a way of showing the doctors!!!!

After the confirmation at the Dr. We called family...here was there reaction:

Kinnan's
Mom and Dad came over the house. When we told them Mom sat down in shock and Dad started hooting and high fiving Andy.
Ryan and Jennifer...are you serious? Congrats

Harvey's (None of them were together) Here are our conversations

Harvey: "Hello"
Andy: "Hey "
Harvey: "What are you guys up to?"
Andy: " We were just calling to see if you new what you were planning for Labor Day?"
Harvey: "Nothing...Why?"
Andy: "Well, you may want to come to Austin to see the birth of your grandchild!"

Momma Harvey started screaming, laughing, and crying!
Dad Harvey was speechless...then said are you serious?
Randi screamed
Amy cried

Wow how all of our lives changed in just a year! What a blessing...Hope you all have a great 2009!

Rolling Over

During Christmas Savannah started rolling over. This is a video of our fun!

A Harvey Christmas!!

What a great week! Andy and I love going to Mobile and visiting his family! This time was no different...

We began our treck across the South Sunday after church. We made it to just outside Lake Charles before Savannah was ready to be out of the car. We decided to call it a night and headed out the next morning at 3 am and got to Mobile by lunch. Savannah was a real trooper and did a great job in the car!

Savannah decided to share some of her highlights
- Hanging out with Ma, Pa, Aunt Randi, Aunt Amy, and Daryl
- Meeting the famouse Daryl...we are fans!!
- Seeing the rock on Aunt Amy's finger and helping her find her wedding dress

- Pa and Daddy making my high Chair

- Being outside with Pa and Ma
- Roasting hotdogs and making smores on New Years eve
- Eating at Lamberts...Home of throwed rolls
- Petting Baby Cat
- Having a crying fight with Gus!
JUST ENJOYING FAMILY!!!!
