NKOTBSB!!

That's right NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK AND BACK STREET BOYS!!!
Jill and I went to see them last night and let's just say they are still as good as they were back then! We had so much fun and screamed like little girls!
One of the interesting things was we were the younger crowd...lots of 30 and 40 year olds in the house and all screaming like we were 16 again! It was so much fun!!!

This is the best invention of a life jacket! It allows her to swim and stay above the water without something being right around her neck!

Week with my cousin!

We have had a great but tiring week! Andy has been in Virginia for school and it is baseball camp week. Aunt Jenny, Uncle Ryan, and Addisyn made there way down here for the camp and tournaments.
Taking care of 2 kids is challenging in itself but without Andy and then add in Savannah hitting some kind of terrible 2 thing this week, it has been difficult. Thank goodness for Aunt Jenny staying with us!
I would also like to say that most of the terrible two moments are gone (I think she was testing me since Daddy wasn't home) and Bruce is also sleeping more at night.

Since baseball camp takes up the morning we were able to do a couple of things with the girls in the afternoon. I love watching them together. My cousins and I are very close and seeing Savannah and Addisyn makes me smile every time!

Lakeline mall is a popular place for the Harvey family. It also seems to cost us money every time. The person that thought to put the Bouncy house, carposel, train, play area, and build a bear was genious. The kids see everything and want to do it all! One thing they have is a bungee trampoline thing. Well, Savannah has wanted to do it for a while but you have to weigh 30lbs. Technically she weighs like 29lbs but when you step on the scale with shoes on you can do it! She had a blast...she even flipped over.

Yes, Bruce came along for our adventures as well!

The best thing to do after a long hot day is go swimming! We are living at the pool this summer and I think next summer we will be taking lessons but for now she is having a great time with her puddle jumper.

Look at our family!

Like Sister...Like Brother!

Apparently both of my children are going to be Elton John fans!

Below is Savannah at 6 months watching with Aunt Amy

Here is Bruce at 6 weeks watching with Savannah!

Family Day!

Andy and I decided this afternoon would be a family day. After the kids naps today we headed to the mall to take Savannah to the bouncy house. Before we went we made a quick stop at the Buckle for Daddy.

Look at the cute outfit Savannah had on today! If only I could pull something that cute off.

I will say this outfit is not the greatest thing for a little girl who is potty trained but when she tells you she needs to go you better hurry!

Savannah loves the bouncy house! This is her at the top of one of the slides...she was dancing to the music!

What is my sissy doing? Bruce was so good and really enjoyed being out of the house.

Feeding Bruce

We had a great day and enjoyed our time together. I can't believe how big Savannah is getting...to think that this time next year I will be chasing two babies around is crazy to me. By the way she will always be my baby. I mean after all I am 28 years old, married, and a mom yet I am still my parents baby!

Wordless Wednesday

Savannah has been such a big girl this summer but she still loves to cuddle with Daddy!

We have been so blessed to have my Mother-in-love her for a week while we adjusted to Bruce's Whooping Cough. She has taken the night shift each night so Andy and I could get some sleep.
Momma Harvey - I could never tell you thank you enough for all your help this week! We love you and I know Bruce is going to miss his cuddle partner and Savannah will ask a number of times "Where's Ma?"

Love you!!!

What a week - My service announcement!

What a week! We spent the entire week at Dell Children's Hospital in Austin. I must say we were very impressed with the staff and the facility but I pray that we never have to go back and neither do any of our friends!

On Monday after visiting our Pediatrician he decided that it was best to take Bruce to the hospital to be monitored over night. They tested her for Pertussis (also known as whooping cough) but we wouldn't recieve the test results until Thursday or Friday.

When we arrived at Dell Children's we were sent to a room and my baby was hooked up to a apnea machine, an oxygen and heart rate monitor, and was given an IV. To say I was scared would be an understatement. Having my baby hooked up to all the machines and not really understand what was going on was very hard!

Most of the machines were to monitor if he stopped breathing or lost oxygen while having his coughing fits.

On Tuesday we met with the team of Doctors and they informed us the worst case scenario. They also told us that we would probably be staying a couple nights. Bruce wasn't eating and that was a concern as well as the coughing.

Lost of prayers were said for Bruce and our family and for that I am so thankful! God was in complete control. By Thursday we were all irratable and sick of Bruce being messed with but we knew we were in the best place for him!

We were also blessed that both sets of parents were able to help us out with Savannah. She did so good with them and was potty trained in the middle of the crazy! She didn't understand what was going on but did a great job of holding it together.

Now here is where my public service announcement comes in as well as my plea! We were told by many doctors there are a number of places Bruce could have contracted Whooping Cough. In adults Whooping Cough can be seen as a cold that is just persistent but doesn't effect us to much. It is extremely dangerous in infants and the elderly.
Whooping Cough is something that can be prevented. I know that we may have taken Bruce out around people a little earlier than most people but we also did it with Savannah and she was fine. Three different doctors told me that the reason they are seeing a rise in Pertussis (whooping cough) is the lack of immunizations. I am big on not telling people what to do and how to raise their children. However, I am going to stand firm to the fact that children need to be vaccinated! Watch your child cough until he turns blue, gasping for air, and nurses running in to get him oxygen and you will think twice about not vaccinating. It is a serious matter and one that I don't take lightly!
He didn't get whooping cough because I had an epidural, was induced, or didn't breastfeed! He got sick and is getting better but please take into consideration what a vaccine can do for your child! Trust me it is the worst feeling in the world to be pushed aside while your 4 week old baby is fighting to breath through coughing fits!

Let me also say that Bruce and our entire family has been treated. We are no longer contagious but Bruce will have the cough for a while. We are going to take extra precaution with him and where we go. Please don't be offended if I tell you not to touch him or hold him. He will slowly get better and will start his first round of vaccines at 2 months.

Savannah was so happy to see Brother in the car seat and coming home!

Happy Big sister!

Whooping cough will not keep us down and we will beat it! God is in control and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers and concerns!

To celebrate we had a movie night!
