Hair Cuts

I was trying to let Savannah's hair grow so we could give it to Locks of Love but it is so stringy and gets so tangly that I needed to get a little cut.  She has such beautiful hair but it was starting to look a little homely to me.  Bruce was also in need of a hair cut although I loved his curls it was so getting so long and messy looking.  So off we went
Savannah Before:
Getting her hair washed...she was not the biggest fan of having her neck like this :)
Love this face...this is a face we are getting a lot...look at how healthy it already looks!
Savannah after:  Looks so grown up!
The place we go also does their nails with the hair cut...look at how pretty her hair looks in the light :)
 Bruce before:
He was so excited to sit in the car...although he wanted to stand the whole time
He kept trying to see what she had and what she was doing :)
 Bruce After: Handsome little man!
I think he looks just like Andy here!

Tuesday Tidbits

We had a great Memorial Day weekend...I only wish I would have taken more pictures!  I did take some with the nice camera but I will have to get those up tomorrow because I don't have it with me at work today :)
We had a lot to celebrate this weekend!  First was Lake Travis' big win over Moody! We are one round away from the State tournament and I can hardly stand it!
If you look really close you can see Savannah and Bruce in the picture!
Bruce loves going to Papa's games and he loves the boys!  I think they are kinda fond of him as well...after the game on Friday Baker (our 1st baseman) said BRUUCE! and he went right over to him.  Melt my heart!
Uncle Ryan and Aunt Samantha were in town and the kids enjoyed spending time with them.  Savannah wanted nothing to do with anyone other than Samantha :) (again I have more pictures just not on my phone)
Sunday night we had the opportunity to celebrate Kim Dinkins retirement and go swimming.  Kim is like a 2nd dad to me and our families are very close!  We have known the Dinkins for 27 years and consider them family!
We have a lot planned this week so look for lots of pictures in the next couple of days!
- End of School is Thursday!
- My beautiful cousin Kristen's wedding is Friday night
- Savannah is one of the flower girls. She was hoping to be in it with my neice but due to reasons outside of my brothers control she can't come :(

Happy Tuesday!

Mother's Day and Bruce Dedication

I had a great Mother's Day!  Andy left for church early but made sure I had my cards before he left.  After getting the kids ready we were off to church and Bruce's dedication!
Right before Brady called the parents up Savannah went to see Daddy!
I know this day can be very hard for some women who long for babies and I want you to know that I am praying for you.
 We are completely blessed!
Brady introducing Bruce to the church!

After church we went with my parents (who I can't believe I didn't get a picture with my mom!) to eat at Mimi's and then went home.  Andy left me take a nap, did laundry, washed dishes, picked up the house, and cooked dinner.  I love my husband!  We topped off the night by watching our show...Celebrity Appretice which was hilarious in the first 10 minutes!
Hope you all had a great Mother's Day!

I love my girl!

I love my car rides with Savannah (and Bruce).  She loves to talk to me about her day or sing me a new song, or just laugh at whatever movie happens to be playing.  The other day she went with my mom and my neice to Nana and Papa's house to go swimming.  This was the conversation she had with them...
Savannah, "Nana, did you know that Jesus walks on Water?"
Nana, "Yes Savannah I do."
Savannah, "Addisyn did you know that Jesus walks on water?"
Addisyn shook her head
Savannah, "Yeah, Jesus walks on water and so does MegaMind!"
My mom said she almost drove off the road laughing so hard.
I love my girl!

Blessed by the Village

Ever heard the saying..."it takes a village!"  I whole-heartily believe that is true!  I have told you many times how blessed Savannah and Bruce are to have grandparents, great-grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Great Aunts and Uncles, as well as Mommy and Daddy's cousins that love them and enjoy spending time with them.
Growing up I have about 3 women that I can remember having a huge impact on my life other than my Mom, Grandparents, and Aunts.  Each of these women hold a special place in my heart and I am forever grateful for them!
My mom's best friend Diane Dinkins...Diane has known me since I was 2 years old.  She and her husband Kim are both teachers and raised 4 beautiful women!  They are like another family to me and I love them all dearly!  Diane loves the Lord and has always been there to lend an ear to my Mom or me.  There are not many memories of big events in my life that Diane and her family were not at cheering me or my family on!
The next 2 women I met in college.  Like any college aged girl I loved the freedom and excitement of being away from home.  I met Kelly Jaquez about a month after I got to SWT.  She was the BSM directors wife and she took a huge interest in me.  Kelly is one of those women that when she says she will pray for you, you can bet she is on her knees for you everyday!  I became very close to Kelly and Abe and got to watch them struggle through infertility to adoption to becoming pregnant!  Kelly showed me what it meant to be a God fearing Woman and to never let anything hold you back!
At the BSM I also met Scottie Killiam!  Scottie lights up a room with her smile and her love for the Lord shines in all she does!  Scottie was the BSM secretary and I would go into her office and just vent or cry to her.  She would give me a big Scottie hug and it would make it all better!  She was my "mom" at college.  I remember when Andy and I broke up she hugged me and just let me cry for about an hour.  Then she told me, "No go show him what he is missing!  Trust in the Lord and he will heal your pain."
I am so blessed to have met these women when I did and to continue to talk and communicate with them.  I love you all!

One thing I have always prayed for my children was that they would have other adults that love Jesus show them how to be men/women of God.  Yes, I know that Andy and I are the chief influences in their lives but I also know there will come a time when Daddy and Mommy are stupid. :)  We are truly blessed by our church and our community group that are helping us raise our children.  "Our little Village."  You guys know who you are and I am so thankful for your presence in our lives as well as Savannah and Bruce's.  Thank you for showing Jesus' love and for putting up with our struggles and rejoicing in our achievements.  We love you and I look forward to Savannah and Bruce talking about how you impacted their lives one day.

Bruce is 1!

I can't believe my baby is 1 years old!  As you can see we celebrated on Saturday with everyone so Sunday which was his actual birthday we went to church, played outside with neighbors, and then had a special cupcake.
Bruce,
You are such a happy baby boy!  You have had a year of challenges but you have taken each one with a smile!  We love you so much!  Savannah is crazy about you and you love when she plays with you.  She makes you laugh more than anyone else can.  You love your Daddy, Pa, and Papa and when they are around forget anyone else.  You are now a full time walker and have perfected your fall.  You love bath time and anything outside.  Thank you for blessing our lives with your every present smile!  I love you! Mommy!
Sissie helped you blow out your candle.
Daddy and I were cracking up because this is how you looked at your cupcake last night.
We Love you BUBBA!

Party part 1 - Decor

When Andy and I decided to do a "Born in the USA" themed party I had so much fun thinking of decor!  It really was pretty cheap and I think it turned out cute!
As you entered the back yard you came into a Backstage Access Only area!
Red, white, and blue stars, guitars, and flags lined the fence
The first table you came to was our welcome table...everyone signed the guitar for Bruce to remember!
The food table had "Hungry Heart" donut holes, "Brillant Disguise" fruit, and my "Home Town" gumballs
Born in the USA water bottles
One Night Only sign and guitars
Take a Ride Down "Thunder Road"
The footprints are Bruce's and the handprints are Savannah's!
This ended up being the gift table
Bruce Month by Month.

I had more decor but I don't think I got pictures of it all.  I had so much fun gettting everything together and I was very happy with how everything turned out!
