Savy Days
A couple of things Savannah had begun to do
1. Do a fish face and then make the kissing noise (she normally does it when we are leaving!)
2. Laugh at the kids at daycare when they are crying
3. Wants Mommy only (it is a little bit frustrating but deep down I love it!)
4. Has another Ear infection...poor baby keeps grabbing her ear
5. Scooting backwards which we know is the first step to crawling
6. Moving all around her bed at night...she doesn't stay still (much like mommy)
7. Loves flirting with boys...doesn't matter if she has never met them!
8. Finally... she has learned to play her piano...I tried to get it on video and well this is the best I could get.

It's getting better!
I wanted to say thank you to all who prayed for my family yesterday. Please continue to be in prayer for my Mama and family as prepare for life without Papa. Although it was a sad day yesterday...it was also happy because for the first time in at least five years all of our family was together. After the funeral we were able to go back to Mama's house and spend time talking and laughing together.
I wanted to share with you the eulogy I read for my Papa yesterday. I had some trouble starting but after my brother came up to stand next to me I was able to get through it.
Here is my eulogy for my Papa:
Thomas Kinnan was so many things to so many people. He was a Husband, Dad, Brother, Son, and Friend but to 15 of us he was Our Papa!
My Papa made a big impression on my as a child. No offense to my brother and my boy cousins, but he really had a soft spot for his girls. We all know it is because he liked us better. J
When I was only 2 my family moved away from Papa and Mama, but Ryan and I came to visit every summer. Some of my best memories as a child were spent camping (in a motor home of course) with my cousins and Mama and Papa. We would all get into the motor home and head out to a lake in the area. Papa loved the water. We would fish, swim, play games, and talk.
One memory I have happened when I was about 9 or 10. Ryan, Whitney, Jared and I were had come into town and we were headed to the lake to meet Stan, Jenny, the boys, and Mr. Howard and Mrs. Ihna for a week at the lake. The first night Mama was getting us ready for bed when Papa came in and told us we weren’t going to bed yet. We were all a little confused but excited that we didn’t have to go to bed. When we got out of the motor home we noticed the stars were shooting across the sky. It was a meteor shower. That night we sat outside, sang songs, and laughed about all the stories Papa was telling.
As many of you know Papa loved John Wayne. We have all watched many John Wayne movies with Papa over the years. I think Papa was a lot like John Wayne. He loved his family and his friends and would fight for them if necessary. He was patriotic and stood up for what he believed in, even if no one else in the room agreed with him. I think he is really enjoying talking with John Wayne in Heaven.
As I got older, Papa’s health began to fail. But no matter what he always wanted to hear about what was going on in my life. He wanted to make sure I was happy and he wanted me to know that no matter what he loved me and was in my corner. A week ago as I said goodbye to Papa, I told him I loved him and gave him a kiss. He kissed me back and said, “I love you too sweetheart!”
The last thing I will always remember about Papa was that he wanted us kids to think he spoke Indian. Of course he didn’t but he had us all convinced when we were young. So in the words of my Papa….Atchawhatchey.

Blessed
I want to first thank all of you for your prayers and support in this rough time. I can't tell you how much we all appreciate it!
I have been truly blessed to have had 26 amazing years knowing my Papa. He was one of the strongest men I have ever known. He was a fighter and fought until the very end.
On Thursday my family gathered around and was able to say our final good-bye. I told my Papa I loved him and I would see him soon. He looked at me and said, "I love you too sweetheart." and gave me a kiss. He then turned to Andy and told him to take care of Savannah and I.
Some of you have asked if there is anything you can do. The first thing you can do is pray for my family as we are all struggling through this time. Please pray for my Mama as she has been with my Papa for almost 60 years. Also please pray for Andy as he is singing at the funeral and for myself as I am giving one of the eulogies.
If you would like to do something else you can contribute to the William Kinnan Memorial fund. If you would like to do this email me and I will let you know how.
Bubble Time
In Savannah's easter basket from the Harvey's was a couple different things of bubbles. She loved them!
Look at how red my father in law is!
Happy Easter

Rough week
Well, I took Savannah to daycare in the morning and picked her up for the doctor at 12. I had been noticing for a couple of days that Savannah had been pulling at her ear but Andy and I didn't think anything of it. Man were we wrong. Savannah has an ear infection in both ears. So yesterday I stayed home with her and she was not herself. She wanted to be held but she was screaming because she was in so much pain. Let's just say I understand why Mom's look so drained when their child is sick!
She is doing much better today after a couple rounds of the antibiotic so I took her to daycare and so far I haven't gotten any emails of calls.
Another thing that has happened is my Papa has taken a little turn for the worse. For those of you who don't know I am very close to my Papa and he has been sick for sometime now. We have all prepared ourselves that Thanksgiving and Christmas were his last but I don't think I really understood what that would mean. Please keep my family in your prayers and also my papa. The doctors are trying to get his blood pressure up after suffering a minor heart attack on Monday.

The joys of home ownership
However, there are some down sides. When Andy and I bought our house we had a list of things that we wanted to upgrade. Our "plan" was to redo our bathroom this summer and then maybe get hardwood floors in the winter or the following summer.
Well, funny thing about living in Texas. WEATHER!!! A couple of weeks ago we found out we had termites. Okay...$1400 for treatment and we needed to replace the deck. This was okay because it was one of the things we said we wanted to upgrade. (Andy is almost done and I will post pictures on Saturday night of the finished deck!!!) But nothing prepared us for the Hail storm last week and well yesterday we found out we have to get a new roof! Are you kidding?
No matter what I wouldn't trade it for an apartment. After all, God does say He will not give you any more than you can handle!!!
