SURPRISE!!!
Thursday was my mother in law's birthday and Amy and I have had something up our sleeve since Christmas.
Thursday night Amy, Savannah, and I hit the road for Alabama! We made it to Lake Charles and decided to find a hotel to stay at for the night. That was a fun adventure! :) We got a hotel about 12:15 and I think we were all asleep by 12:45. The next morning all 3 of us were up, ready, and out the door by 7 am! We drove the rest of the way to Mobile and went to Ruby Tuesdays. My father in law said he would get Ma to the restaurant by 12:30. She had no idea and when they pulled up the cutest little red head went running to her Ma! Ma was so excited and took a minute to believe it was us!
SURPRISE MA!!!
Savannah with her Pa and Ma!
Mommy and Savannah waiting on Ma!
Pa was working all weekend trying to get the house ready to put on the market...man we are going to miss that house! When Savannah woke up from her nap on Friday she wanted to help Pa so she held his flashlight!
Playing Frisbee
Reading with Aunt Randi and baby Amos! Yes, that is right they are PREGNANT!!
Playing with Uncle Daryl!
Loving on Aunt Amy!
Backyard Therapy!
We had a great time in Alabama! It was sad to leave because although the drive isn't my favorite, we love the house and the yard. My in laws are moving back to Texas which I am SO EXCITED ABOUT! However, lots of memories were made at the Alabama house and I will always remember it because it is where we spent Savannah's first Thanksgiving and Christmas!

However, lots of memories were made at the Alabama house and I will always remember it because it is where we spent Savannah's first Thanksgiving and Christmas!
You may not care but somethings I will always remember about this house are:
- sitting on the porch talking
- Savannah swinging in the front yard
- The shutter doors (just ask any of us!)
- Getting ready for Randi and Amy's weddings
- Grannie and Granjack's face when we came in the house at Thanksgiving!
- Playing badminton in the backyard
- Playing Wii
- The great HOT showers
- Lots of talks at the table!
As you can tell we have loved Alabama and love spending time there! So Happy Birthday Ma! Hope it was great!
And by the way Amy and I drove 24 hours in the car together without falling asleep or any fights! I love my sister-in-laws and although we are all different in many ways our love for each other and support is something I wouldn't trade for the world!

Wishes for Weston
Remember when I told you about Weston Golden the little boy who got a new liver. Well, his family is very important to ours. Not only is his Daddy my department head at school, his Mom and I excitably talked about our little girls being friends when we were pregnant, and now Emily and Savannah love each other!
Last night Lake Travis Middle School and Hudson Bend Middle school got to come together to present this precious family with money that had been raised for them! Can I just say that GOD IS GOOD!! We raised over $4000.00 for their family. Billy (Weston's Daddy) was speechless and had most of us in tears! Ashley and Weston were still in Houston but if all goes well they could be home before the end of the month!
Weston is doing really good and his new liver looks great! Please continue to pray for their family as they have this road ahead of them! Here is one of my favorite pictures from last night. All the kids (mostly Savannah's daycare class) in their Wishes for Weston shirts!

29 almost 30 weeks!
Wow...3 posts in one day that is a record! Everyone has been asking to here about Bruce so here is a little update
I'm almost 30 weeks...Holy COW!!
Pregnancy Highlights:
Size of Baby: About 2.9 lbs. the size of a squash
Total weight gain/lose: at my last dr. appt I have gained about 10 lbs although looking at me looks like a whole lot more!
Maternity Clothes: Yes! I love them...I can still where some normal shirts but no pants. I am in track season now at school so my workout pants and t-shirts are getting smaller but I am hanging in there :)
Gender: It's a Boy!! Bruce Ryan Harvey
Movement: He is very active. He loves to get in a ball and then it's like he counts to three and stretches really quick...so I get kicked and hit at the same time
What I miss: Diet Dr. Pepper from Sonic and sleeping comfortably through the night
Cravings: Lately I haven't really been hungry...I guess my stomach is running out of room :)
Symptoms: Lots of pressure and starting to waddle. Plus i feel like I am so out of shape because just walking around gets me all tired and out of breath.
Best Moment of the week: Getting Bruce's bedding in and getting my shower invitation!
Happy Valentines Day!
Our weekend in pictures!
This weekend was beautiful! We had such a great time enjoying the nice weather and getting outside. I really do like the cold but below freezing for 2 weeks straight is enough for me...I live in Texas remember!
Here are some pictures of our weekend!
Thursday after school Jill and I took Savannah with us to get pedicures. Savannah didn't really want to take her shoes off but she wanted to get her nails painted. The women at the salon ate Savannah up and she didn't mind the attention! Check out Savannah's concentration:
Saturday morning I had to go in for the lovely 3 hour glucose test. It was not really fun but I did get to read all of my People magazine :) We will find out the results next week. Once I got home Andy and I decided to take Savannah to the park by our neighborhood before her nap. She loved it!
Daddy and Savannah playing on the space ship
Going up to the tallest slide...I didn't think she would do it but:
Here she comes...

Who am I?
I was reading one of my blogs lately and the woman realized that she always posts about her children and husband and not about herself. I read probably 15 blogs and I absolutely love them...some of them I know and some I don't. I love how real some of these women are...this particular blogger is a mom of 3 and her baby (2 years old) was diagnosed with a heart condition in utero. The little girl had a transplant a year ago and her blog is just the day in the life.
I started this blog in an effort to keep family and friends that are far away updated on our life with Savannah. But I find myself wanting to be more real on this blog and not just share the big things but the little things as well. So with that being said you may see some posts that don't have pictures (although I have the cutest little red head and I will probably still put up pictures ;)) and are just me being real!
So here is the first one!
WHO AM I?
- I am a child of the Living God!!
- I am a family person
- I am a wife (Andy - almost 5 years!)
- I am a mother of 1 with 1 on the way (Savannah 2 years, Bruce in utero 6 months)
- I am a daughter (Roy and Liz ~ amazing parents!)
- I am a daddy's girl
- I am a sister (Ryan is my older brother and I love him!)
- I am the baby in the family
- I am a granddaughter (I have had the blessing of KNOWING all 4 of my grandparents)
- I am a cousin ( 13 on one side with 3 almost 5 children and 7 on the other side)
- I am a daughter in law (I LOVE my in laws and love spending time with them)
- I am a sister-in-law (But really I just call them my sisters and brothers!)
- I married into an amazing family with grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins that haven't ever acted like I wasn't always here :)

- I married into an amazing family with grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins that haven't ever acted like I wasn't always here :)
- I am a middle school teacher and coach
- I am a sports loving girl who doesn't like to lose at ANYTHING!
- I love to be outside
- I love hanging out with friends (Old and New)
- I live in Austin (have for almost 18 yrs except 5 in college)

- I love Country music! (in fact I told Andy before they stop touring I want to see Dolly and Reba)
- I am a die hard Cowboy and Astros fan (yes I know they aren't always great :))
- I am a animal person as long as they aren't mine :)
So that list was easy...this is a little deeper
- I struggle with prayer and reading my bible daily
- I struggle with change...really I hate it!
- I hold grudges...I hate to admit this one but you can do a lot to me but when you hurt my family I don't really forgive
- I consider myself a strong person and will take charge but then sometimes I feel like it is way to much and people don't like that about me
- I talk a lot and I know it can be annoying
- I struggle with my looks and my weight
- I struggle with what people think of me
- I struggle with disciplining Savannah and soon Bruce...it is so hard sometimes!
- I struggle with gossip
I am sure I could list a lot more things but for the most part that is me. I want you to know that I love my life and am so blessed! God has given me so many people in my life that mean the world to me and I could never thank him enough. Over the next couple of weeks I think I am going to post about the different things listed above. I can't wait to see what comes out of that but I hope you will stay tuned and enjoy.
And just for those out there that are like...wait Claire what about Savannah and Andy. Oh don't worry all their posts as well as updates on Bruce and our life are coming too. I mean who can resist talking about this cutie!!

Valentines Week
An interesting weekend
Our weekend got off to a great start. Thursday nights are normally game nights for Mommy but due to the weather they were thinking we would be getting we cancelled our game. To be honest I wasn't sure if we would actually get the weather but I was excited to have the night off.
Thursday night we played games together at home and ate a root beer pulled pork...yumm! When we were getting Savannah ready for bed Andy decided he might want to let the pipes drip over night so after about 30 minutes he finally was able to unfreeze them from the nights before. We got a call that school would start 2 hours late and we were so excited.
Friday morning Andy's phone rang at 5 am to tell us school had been cancelled. We were so excited but I just thought there was ice on the road. When we finally rolled out of bed around 9 am I looked outside and saw snow! I was so excited...we got Savannah up and went outside to play with the neighbors.

Savannah just liked to throw the snow...Lilia wanted to eat it.

Our house
After playing outside we went across the street to play on the trampoline at Haley's house...at first Savannah loved it and then well we will let the picture do the talking
By about 12 the sun was out and were headed to go eat lunch with my parents. I was excited because this weekend was our Church's women retreat. I headed out with about 5 other girls on Friday around 5. We ate dinner and went to the retreat...Friday night was great! Saturday morning came and around 9:30 I almost passed out.

Long story short Andy came and took me to the hospital. I was dehydrated and have the start of a bladder infection. Although we had to go to the hospital and we can't wait for the bill we did get to hear Bruce's heartbeat for about 3 hours! :)
Sunday was a restful day for Savannah and Mommy. We stayed home from church and watched movies. We did have a couple of friends come over for the super bowl.
That was our weekend! Hope you had a eventful one like us :)

Hair Cut and Play with Daddy
Yesterday was long over due. First, Andy was able to get out of the house and be around Savannah and Mommy. Savannah made it very clear to me that she didn't want me to be with her and Daddy. :) We decided that she really needed a hair cut about 2 weeks ago...she has my fine and thin hair so it gets very knotty at the ends. She is great about fixing her hair but lately the knots have not made her happy!
Here she is waiting in the room with Andy. As you can see I am on the other side of the glass and she didn't want me in the room!
Her long beautiful hair :(
It was in a pony tail all day...can you tell?
